On hot day, it's a mighty climb up marble steps, but you can't go to Athens without doing it!

Also on the Acropolis. the Caryatids - the Erechtheion porch's pillars - are now inside the museum, where the ladies are protected.

Photographed while walking up to the Parthenon. Athena's gift to Athens was the olive tree.

Taken through a window of a souvenir store in Athens.

The New Acropolis Museum in Athens holds the original caryatids from the Erechtheion.

Each one had a slightly different hairstyle. The massive hair makes for a thicker neck and better support for the porch.

This is a copy of a statue that had been on the Parthenon. On the right is Aphrodite, resting on her mother's lap. I didn't catch who the 3rd woman is - an aunt or a cousin or something.

Landing at Skopelos. Ferry service was efficient. On this huge ferry, probably about 30 customers all told!
